Welcome, I’m John Atwood, and I have been into photography for as long as I can remember (for example, the banner photo that you see on the top of the page was a shot I took around 1976 from my grandmother’s house of Zuma Beach in Malibu, California).
For the past 45 years, I have dedicated my professional life to archaeology in California. In addition to my archaeological pursuits, I have been the developer and webmaster of several websites, encompassing both archaeological-related content and a diverse collection of photographs I have captured (including landscapes and social events, such as car shows, to collaborations with professional and amateur models, and various content creation projects).. Notably, one of my most recognized websites was dedicated to the nostalgic exploration of cruising Van Nuys Boulevard during the late 1970s.
In 2005, I retired from performing cultural resource evaluations with my firm, PAST, INC., where I continue to serve as President. This transition has provided me with increased time to dedicate to my photographic pursuits and the development of other types of websites. Therefore, it is the primary objective of this website is to disseminate a selection of photographs that I have captured throughout the years, as well as those that I have taken in the present moment. Although I occasionally share a few photographs on Facebook, this platform enables me to showcase a more comprehensive collection.
